I have lost my mind …at least I think I have. I started a YouTube channel. Yes, I did. I’ve been watching other channels most every day and I thought, I have something that interests me and I want to share it with others. What is my main topic you may ask? Well, what else but writing and some of my other crafts would be my topic/s. My reasons are as follows. I want to share what knowledge I have gained since I starting writing as more than a hobby. I also procrastinate like you would not believe, so YouTube will kind of be my accountability partner. I have to say it is already working. I have two rough draft manuscripts from 2013’s NaNoWriMo sitting in my Dropbox, they are both now in editing. I also have two novels in the writing stage and I am determined to finish them both this year. One is partially finished and the other is in the world-building phase. Wish me luck.

November 7 went really well.
I met my daily goal and appear to be back in my grove.
Novel 1- number of words for the day- 2033, for a total of 11,466.
Novel 2- number of words for the day- 2119, for a total of 12,276.
Woohoo, that brings my grand combined total to 23,742
I have plans for a writing marathon this weekend, so Monday I hope to have some impressive numbers to report.
Have a great weekend.

I am about to get busy on NaNo day 7 but couldn’t do that till I update y’all on my progress.
November 6 totals:
Novel 1- 9,433
Novel 2-10,157, I was happy to break the 10,000 mark on this one.
But Midnight snuck (I looked snuck up as my spell check dinged me on it, Snuck is a non standard usage but perfectly acceptable alternative to sneaked) up on me so I moved on to Novel 1 After midnight so technically those numbers belong to day 7. But, I can report I broke through 10,000 on Novel 1 also before calling time and getting some sleep.
But, you will have to wait till tomorrow for a full word count report.
It’s funny sometimes the surprises you get while writing.
Here you are with a fully conceptualized plot, setting, outline and your characters, you know all you think you will need to know about your characters.
Or so you think.
Some of you already know I’m writing 2 novels for NaNoWriMo, well one of the little buggers took a turn on me.
I now have a few new characters I knew nothing about and a romance between one of the new characters and the main character.
I wrote the scene where HE first appeared and when I was done, I was like cool.
Then the last scene demanded to be written, I never write out of order, and the romance came out.
I was like WTF? Where did this come from?
It just goes to show, you can plan and plot all you want but a story is organic and can grow and morph in unexpected ways.
So, while I am a die hard plotter and planner, my outlines are suggested story lines, if the story deviates it deviates.
I love it when a story tells itself, you get to sit back and ghostwrite for your characters.
What surprises have you found? Did you like them?

Day Five results
Sadly a mere 676 words on Novel 1
and 0 on novel 2.
But I did find some interesting stats when I updated my word count on nanowrimo.org.
my over all totals are were pretty good last night.
Novel 1= 9235
for a grand total of = 18,469, no to shabby huh.
Then I looked at today’s projected Completion date for both novels…December 3…not a happy sight.
But, its okay become I excel under pressure, and a deadline is my friend.
Watch for today’s numbers posted in tomorrow’s blog post.

Thankfully not epic failure because well I did write some words.

I am heading into a very pivotal part of Novel 1 and I have to make sure I do it justice.
Well I will be back to you guys tomorrow and tell you if I was able to break free of the box.

Holy Molly I wrote my fingers to the bone this weekend.
NaNoWriMo has inspired me to write more than I ever have in my entire life.
Day one, November 1, started out pretty slow and as I had other priorities that couldn’t be put off I did a respectable 4,438 words.
Day two, November 2, I didn’t start writing until 6 pm but I manages 3,340 by midnight.
Then the magic happened. From 12:01 Sunday morning until 7 pm Sunday night I killed it.
Day three, November 3 = 9,535 words.
My grand total number of words written on both my Novels in progress = 17,366.
Woo Hoo, I am on a role.
I still have to write today, but I will post my numbers tomorrow.
So, How did I write that many words in one day?
I played a game with some online friends who are also doing NaNoWriMo.
Scene Sprints, every hour on the hour you write a scene, one scene from start to finish.
Some scenes took fifteen minutes and some scenes took more than an hour, but once your scene was finished you posted the number of words written.
At the beginning of the next hour you started another scene.
It was a blast and we all had a lot of fun.
Most of us wrote more yesterday than we ever have before.
I’m gonna do it again.
Some wise person said. If you love what you do its never work.
Well, I take that to mean,if you have fun working your really just playing and who doesn’t like playing.
Catch Y’all Tomorrow, I have some playing to do.
